Join our recreational basketball classes. New teams are chosen each week "pick-up" style. We offer a fast fun pickup style game that gives everyone equal playing time. Class size is limited so please sign up early. Only those who pre-register may play. Tuesday night at Canyon Vista Middle School gym 8-9:30pm.

Princeton Review SAT® Prep Class
Students who actively participate in the Princeton Review course significantly increase their performance on their SAT, thus increasing their opportunities to gain admission to college and universities, and earn scholarships and entry into select programs. This virtual course focuses exclusively on the math and verbal skills specific to the SAT.Before you register, please be aware of the following expectations: Student should only register to attend one session. Student must attend all days of the course. Student will receive log on instructions from their instructor, and must log on daily by the designated start time for their course and stay every day for the duration of their designated course time. A firm commitment from both the student and their family is required in order to maximize the impact of the course. The fee for this course is $125.00 (reduced from $700.00!) and includes all materials and instruction. Every student is welcome. If financial aid is required to offset the cost, please complete the Scholarship Request Form. Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We have limited seats available. Based on the success of previous courses, we anticipate that the available seats will fill quickly. No refunds will be issued for Cancellation Request Forms submitted after the 2nd class date. A materials fee of $75 cannot be refunded after materials have been picked up.

I will create pass ports for the students and we will dive deep into different cultures daily. We’ll do cultures like Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and others. Each day we’ll start by reading and researching the country and looking at cultural norms and traditions. Then we’ll look at a dish we can make that will be a no make food. For example, for Mexico we can do a salsa recipe. Everything would be prepared safe and no make. Allergies will be taken into consideration as well. Students will follow the STEM process, using skills and allowing students to ASK, IMAGINE, PLAN & CREATE, IMPROVE, COMMUNICATE, and REFLECT. Students will design and create the following projects: a shelter 12" high for an animal, a device that launches pom poms in the air, and a maze for a ball to roll through. If time permits,students will be introduced to more STEM challenges. Students will strengthen foundational math skills in the four basic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—through engaging, hands-on activities. Learning will include kinesthetic movement, fake-money exercises, and physical games such as basketball to reinforce concepts. Students will also create a blanket using recycled fabric to explore geometric concepts including area, perimeter of polygons, combined area, and the circumference of circles. Learn one of the most versatile and beginner-friendly programming languages, used by professionals in diverse fields from software development to scientific research. In this course, students will be introduced to core coding concepts such as variables, loops, functions, and conditionals. To apply and practice the concepts, students will build interactive projects like Dodge the Meteors. Then, they’ll learn intermediate-level coding concepts like arrays, functions with parameters, and game physics! Applying these skills, they will unleash their inner game designers and build their own versions of classic arcade games like Brick Breaker, Bubble Pop, Star Invaders, and Pong. Come learn to rock! Beginner campers will learn to play basic chords and beats, learn to play in time and as a band, learn some recording techniques, and have fun.
