TAG Festival (August 2026 Fifth & Sixth Grade) - Think. Argue. Persuade.
Give your gifted student four exciting days to sharpen their voice, boost their confidence, and have fun thinking big! This dynamic summer experience is designed for students who love ideas, enjoy a challenge, and want to learn how to argue persuasively and think critically. Through hands-on activities like structured and spontaneous (SPAR) debates, public speaking practice, team challenges, and an introduction to Aristotle’s powerful pillars of Logos, Ethos, and Pathos, campers will learn how to build strong arguments, think on their feet, and communicate with impact. From debating real-world topics to friendly competitions and supportive feedback, students will grow their skills while connecting with like-minded peers who love spirited discussion—all in an engaging, encouraging environment that makes learning feel like play.

Pawns Chess Tournament
The Round Rock ISD Pawns Chess Tournament is for true novice chess players who want to experience a formal tournament setting, but aren't ready to commit to having a United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 2-8.The Pawns tournament runs from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 1:30 PM. Check in for the Pawns tournament begins at 8:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 9:30 AM. (Late arrivals will not be added to Round 1 and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 20 minutes to 40 minutes to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Tournament Details: Date:May 2, 2026 Location: Cedar Valley Middle School Sections: 2 sections divided by grade based upon registration (Sections may be merged if needed) 3 Rounds Time Control: Game in 20 Clocks and boards provided Students who place in the top 6 of their section will receive a certificate. Prior to registering for this tournament please review the Round Rock ISD Chess Tournament Rules and Guidelines and review our Chess Tournament FAQ Web Page.Space is limited. To register your student for the tournament please complete the registration before April 27 at 8:00 AM. Registration closes at that time or when the tournament seats fill.

Play Together Pickleball (Gr. 1-5) by TGA of Austin

TGA pickleball camps provide children of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play and develop their love of the game. Our dedicated coaching staff and low camper-to-coach ratio allow for individual attention and instruction tailored to each participant’s skill level. In addition to honing their skills and improving their game, campers build friendships and life-long memories. Students who are registered to attend both a morning and afternoon camp must bring a nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle. Athletes should wear comfortable athletic clothing, tennis shoes, and bring a water bottle and snack. All equipment is provided. Princeton Review SAT® Prep Class
Princeton Review
Students who actively participate in the Princeton Review course significantly increase their performance on their SAT, thus increasing their opportunities to gain admission to college and universities, and earn scholarships and entry into select programs. This virtual course focuses exclusively on the math and verbal skills specific to the SAT. Before you register, please be aware of the following expectations: Student should only register to attend one session. Student must attend all days of the course. Student will receive log on instructions from their instructor, and must log on daily by the designated start time for their course and stay every day for the duration of their designated course time. A firm commitment from both the student and their family is required in order to maximize the impact of the course. The fee for this course is $125.00 (reduced from $700.00!) and includes all materials and instruction. Every student is welcome. If financial aid is required to offset the cost, please complete the Scholarship Request Form. Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We have limited seats available. Based on the success of previous courses, we anticipate that the available seats will fill quickly. No refunds will be issued for Cancellation Request Forms submitted after the 2nd class date. A materials fee of $75 cannot be refunded after materials have been picked up.

Printmaking (Gr. 5-7) by RRISD Teacher

In this summer camp you will design and create your own rubber carving block. Artists will learn about printmaking and how to safely use the gouge to carve into the rubber block. Artists will carve designs into the block, leaving raised areas to ink. The inked block is then pressed onto paper to create a relief print. This soft-cut linocut is a relief printing technique similar to using traditional linoleum.

Public Speaking & Confidence Builders (Gr. 1-6) by CompuChild
Personal Enrichment
Speak with confidence and shine on stage! In the Public Speaking & Confidence Builders Camp, students learn to express their ideas clearly, confidently, and creatively through storytelling, impromptu speaking, and presentation games. Campers practice body language, voice projection, and stage presence while building self-assurance and communication skills in a fun, supportive environment. Through engaging activities like creative writing, drama-based exercises, and UIL-style storytelling practice, students strengthen both their prepared and spontaneous speaking abilities. The week concludes with a Showcase Presentation, where every camper proudly delivers their own story or speech to celebrate their growth and confidence. Python: Intro (Gr. 3-6) by Coding with Kids

Ready to learn one of the most widely used programming languages in the world? Then this is the class to sign up for. Python is a very versatile and easy-to-learn starter language that is widely used by software developers, scientists and data analysts, from medical research to applications at NASA. Through the games they create, students will learn and practice core coding concepts and learn Python-specific concepts and syntax. Projects range from trivia quizzes to competitive two-player games and everything in between. Students will gain valuable experience with key concepts such as data structures and algorithms. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 4:00 PM. Check in for the Rooks tournament begins at 7:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 8:30 AM. (Late arrivals will not be added to Round 1 and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 40 minutes to 1 hour to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day.
