This Round Rock ISD Bishops Chess Tournament is our new option for high school students. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 9-12. Students must have a current membership to the United States Chess Federation to participate. Previous tournament experience is recommended for all participants. Because we have never held a high school level tournament before we will determine sections based on the ratings of the registered players. The Bishops tournament runs from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 4:00 PM. Check in for the Bishops tournaments begins at 7:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 8:30 AM. (Late arrivals will be withdrawn from the tournament and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 40 minutes to 1 hour to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Tournament Details: Sections:These will be determined based upon the ratings of the registered players. 5 Rounds Time Control: Game in 30 delay 5 Clocks and boards provided Students who place in the top 6 of their section will receive a certificate.
