Rooks Chess Tournament
The Round Rock ISD Rooks Chess Tournament is for novice players. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 2-8. Students must have a current membership to the United States Chess Federation to participate.The Rooks tournament runs from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 4:00 PM. Check in for the Rooks tournament begins at 7:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 8:30 AM. (Late arrivals will not be added to Round 1 and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 40 minutes to 1 hour to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Tournament Details: Date:March 28, 2026 Location:To Be Determined Sections: Under 600, Under 300 (Sections may be merged if needed) 5 Rounds Time Control: Game in 30 delay 5 Clocks and boards provided Students who place in the top 6 of their section will receive a certificate. Prior to registering for this tournament please review the Round Rock ISD Chess Tournament Rules and Guidelines and review our Chess Tournament FAQ Web Page.Space is limited. To register your student for the tournament please complete the following form before March 23 at 8:00 AM. Registration closes at that time or when the tournament seats fill.

Pawns Chess Tournament
The Round Rock ISD Pawns Chess Tournament is for true novice chess players who want to experience a formal tournament setting, but aren't ready to commit to having a United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 2-8.The Pawns tournament runs from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 1:30 PM. Check in for the Pawns tournament begins at 8:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 9:30 AM. (Late arrivals will not be added to Round 1 and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 20 minutes to 40 minutes to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Spike Frog Volleyball brings fun, energy, and skill-building to RRISD for elementary-aged kids. Our camps introduce volleyball through creative, age-appropriate drills that teach passing, setting, serving, and hitting while building teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship. Spike Frog’s mission is to help kids fall in love with volleyball in an uplifting environment. Our coaches bring passion and enthusiasm to camp! Open to 2nd-6th graders with no experience needed! Coaches keep things positive and beginner-friendly. Kids stay active, learn fundamentals, and enjoy games and scrimmages. Join the fun and see why so many young athletes start their volleyball journey with Spike Frog! Sports-A-Rama (Gr. 1-6) by i9 Sports

Campers will play baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer and other summer camp themed games/activities. We will focus on Fun while working on skill development by utilizing fun games, drills and scrimmages to keep the kids involved and engaged. We will also teach a sportsmanship value each day (leadership, respect, teamwork, etc). Each child will receive an i9 Sports medallion and i9 Dri-Fit T-shirt at the end of camp. Backpacks are encouraged to hold personal snacks and please arrive with a full water bottle and wearing closed toe shoes. AGE APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM: The younger groups focus on simply kids having fun with fundamentals of game play! i9 “Game Play” encourages stronger interest in sports because they are having fun with new friends at summer camp! The older groups explore offense and defensive specific positions with passing, receiving and running improvements. Each day we discuss our previous games, we encourage learning what others do well on the game field. GROUPING THE ATHLETES: We group i9 Campers based on their current age in order to provide appropriate curriculum and further focus towards fun play. We encourage "buddy request" and campers will be grouped with their age, and their grade. EQUIPMENT: All Camp equipment is provided, each camper receives an official i9 Dri-fit T-shirt! Round Rock ISD Enrichment is offering the option to post vendor camp and class advertising flyers to the Districts' digital advertising platform (PeachJar) from August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026. The PeachJar platform streamlines the distribution of school and community resources directly to families as digital flyers. Flyers may include the regular after-school or online classes being held through Round Rock ISD. Flyers must not include after-school or summer programs held at the same time as Round Rock ISD enrichment classes. A single fee is charged for up to four (4) flyers posted on Peachjar during the specified time frame. This advertising opportunity is completely optional. Flyers must include the following information: Class or camp description Class or camp dates Class or camp times Class or camp prices Class or camp locations Class or camp registration link or QR code Class or camp contact for more information Flyers must be one 8.5 x 11 page Flyers must be PDF or JPG format. Video Game Design Hackathon (Gr. 2-8) by Compuchild

Design. Code. Compete! In Video Game Design Hackathon, students of all experience levels bring their creativity to life by designing and coding their own interactive video games using block-based coding platforms. Beginners start by learning game design basics—character movement, scoring systems, and storytelling—while advanced students dive deeper into multi-level design, animations, and advanced logic. Campers work individually or in small teams, moving from guided challenges to open creation as the week progresses. Along the way, they’ll explore key concepts in coding, problem-solving, and design thinking while receiving mentorship and feedback. The week culminates in a Game Showcase and Hackathon, where all students present and play their games for judges and peers. Top projects will be submitted to CompuChild’s National Game Design Competition, giving every participant a chance to shine! Welcome to a hands-on, fast-paced program that allows students to work directly with professionals in the field of industrial film and video production. Students produce, direct, light, shoot, and edit like experts as they create content for that week’s camp. Students will start with the pre-production process: outlining ideas, creating a resources list, and crafting stories and objectives. Then they will dive straight into creating content and learning the post-production process. Students will collaborate on ways to market and promote their content and build an engaging audience. eSports is a great way to improve your child's communication skills and increase group collaboration. Playing games such as Minecraft and Rocket League requires strategy from all players and will help develop the thought process behind problem-solving and critical thinking. Each session will consist of Minecraft and Rocket League curriculum.
