TAG Festival (August 2026 Fifth & Sixth Grade) - Think. Argue. Persuade.
Give your gifted student four exciting days to sharpen their voice, boost their confidence, and have fun thinking big! This dynamic summer experience is designed for students who love ideas, enjoy a challenge, and want to learn how to argue persuasively and think critically. Through hands-on activities like structured and spontaneous (SPAR) debates, public speaking practice, team challenges, and an introduction to Aristotle’s powerful pillars of Logos, Ethos, and Pathos, campers will learn how to build strong arguments, think on their feet, and communicate with impact. From debating real-world topics to friendly competitions and supportive feedback, students will grow their skills while connecting with like-minded peers who love spirited discussion—all in an engaging, encouraging environment that makes learning feel like play.

Pawns Chess Tournament
The Round Rock ISD Pawns Chess Tournament is for true novice chess players who want to experience a formal tournament setting, but aren't ready to commit to having a United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 2-8.The Pawns tournament runs from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 1:30 PM. Check in for the Pawns tournament begins at 8:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 9:30 AM. (Late arrivals will not be added to Round 1 and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 20 minutes to 40 minutes to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Tournament Details: Date:May 2, 2026 Location: Cedar Valley Middle School Sections: 2 sections divided by grade based upon registration (Sections may be merged if needed) 3 Rounds Time Control: Game in 20 Clocks and boards provided Students who place in the top 6 of their section will receive a certificate. Prior to registering for this tournament please review the Round Rock ISD Chess Tournament Rules and Guidelines and review our Chess Tournament FAQ Web Page.Space is limited. To register your student for the tournament please complete the registration before April 27 at 8:00 AM. Registration closes at that time or when the tournament seats fill.

Spike Prime Advanced: Let's Compete Each day, students will participate in team building activities and receive a team briefing for they day's challenges. Daily challenges will help students develop skills and knowledge to complete the culminating project of designing and navigating an obstacle course.To be most successful, in this advanced level course students should have experience with the Scratch coding platform and experience with reading instructions to build complex LEGO models. Spike Prime Introduction: Let the Games Begin! Each day, students will participate in team building activities and receive a team briefing for daily challenges. Daily challenges will help students develop skills and knowledge to build their designing and coding skills. On the final day students will build a project to showcase their new skills. In this introductory level course students will become familiar with the basics of drag and drop coding in the Scratch platform and develop experience reading and using instructions to build LEGO models. Youth Enrichment - After School
Thank you for your continued participation in our after-school Enrichment program. We understand that you were unable to pick up your child on time. Enrichment after school classes end at 4:00 p.m. In accordance with the policy agreed to during registration, a late pick-up fee will be charged for any time beyond 15 minute grace period after class dismissal. After 4:00p.m. a fee of $15.00 will be charged for the next 15 minutes, followed by an additional $1.00 per minute thereafter. The fee is due at the time of pick-up and applies per student. The appropriate late fee has been applied to your account. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Austin Society of Karate teaches American Karate with an emphasis on self-defense, self-esteem, and self-confidence. A Black uniform is required for intermediate and advanced students and can be purchased from instructor or outside source. Learn to Crochet (Gr. 4-7) by Madaleine's Designs
Crafts
The learner will learn to use a crochet hook. Identify the variety in sizes and choose appropriate hooks for the yarn we'll be using. The use of stitch markers and a yarn needle to complete the crochet square unit. This project requires learning to chain, slip stitch, single stitch, double stitch, etc. Identify the shapes of each stitch and go over possible patterns. Students of all ages will learn how to crochet! Students will learn the basics and then pick a project to make and keep at the end of camp! Students who are participating in a half day morning camp also must bring their own nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle.

Learn to Hand Sew (Gr. 4-7) by Madaleine's Designs
Crafts
The learner will learn to practice pinning a pattern, identify seam allowance, learn to use a measuring tape, cut out pattern pieces, trace the seam allowance with chalk on fabric, and hand sew pieces together. The learner will stuff their project and close it. The learner will complete a sewing project using running stitch, back stitch, blind stitch and learn to knot thread. Our Little Coders camp is an opportunity for young children to develop their computational thinking skills, build their first programs, and have fun with new friends! The curriculum is designed specifically for early readers and takes into account cognitive abilities as well as the attention span typical for ages 5-7. We use age-appropriate online tools, including Lightbot, Kodable, and Scratch to introduce basic coding skills. After the camp, students will be able to share their projects with family and friends and continue programming at home with their Coding with Kids Scratch account. Prerequisites: Basic reading helpful but not required. Can handle mouse and keyboard comfortably.
