TAG Festival (August 2026 Fifth & Sixth Grade) - Think. Argue. Persuade.
Give your gifted student four exciting days to sharpen their voice, boost their confidence, and have fun thinking big! This dynamic summer experience is designed for students who love ideas, enjoy a challenge, and want to learn how to argue persuasively and think critically. Through hands-on activities like structured and spontaneous (SPAR) debates, public speaking practice, team challenges, and an introduction to Aristotle’s powerful pillars of Logos, Ethos, and Pathos, campers will learn how to build strong arguments, think on their feet, and communicate with impact. From debating real-world topics to friendly competitions and supportive feedback, students will grow their skills while connecting with like-minded peers who love spirited discussion—all in an engaging, encouraging environment that makes learning feel like play.

Pawns Chess Tournament
The Round Rock ISD Pawns Chess Tournament is for true novice chess players who want to experience a formal tournament setting, but aren't ready to commit to having a United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 2-8.The Pawns tournament runs from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 1:30 PM. Check in for the Pawns tournament begins at 8:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 9:30 AM. (Late arrivals will not be added to Round 1 and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 20 minutes to 40 minutes to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Tournament Details: Date:May 2, 2026 Location: Cedar Valley Middle School Sections: 2 sections divided by grade based upon registration (Sections may be merged if needed) 3 Rounds Time Control: Game in 20 Clocks and boards provided Students who place in the top 6 of their section will receive a certificate. Prior to registering for this tournament please review the Round Rock ISD Chess Tournament Rules and Guidelines and review our Chess Tournament FAQ Web Page.Space is limited. To register your student for the tournament please complete the registration before April 27 at 8:00 AM. Registration closes at that time or when the tournament seats fill.

Get ready to jump, cheer, and shine! The Cheer Enrichment Camp is an energetic, confidence-boosting week for 5th–7th graders who want to explore cheerleading or sharpen their skills. Campers will learn cheer fundamentals including motions, jumps, introductory stunting, and performance skills in a safe,supportive environment. No experience is needed. Throughout the week,skills will build toward a short cheer routine that campers will proudly perform for families. This camp is the perfect way to boost confidence, build teamwork, and prepare students for future school cheer opportunities.

Campers will play baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer and other summer camp themed games/activities. We will focus on Fun while working on skill development by utilizing fun games, drills and scrimmages to keep the kids involved and engaged. We will also teach a sportsmanship value each day (leadership, respect, teamwork, etc). Each child will receive an i9 Sports medallion and i9 Dri-Fit T-shirt at the end of camp. Backpacks are encouraged to hold personal snacks and please arrive with a full water bottle and wearing closed toe shoes. AGE APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM: The younger groups focus on simply kids having fun with fundamentals of game play! i9 “Game Play” encourages stronger interest in sports because they are having fun with new friends at summer camp! The older groups explore offense and defensive specific positions with passing, receiving and running improvements. Each day we discuss our previous games, we encourage learning what others do well on the game field. GROUPING THE ATHLETES: We group i9 Campers based on their current age in order to provide appropriate curriculum and further focus towards fun play. We encourage "buddy request" and campers will be grouped with their age, and their grade. EQUIPMENT: All Camp equipment is provided, each camper receives an official i9 Dri-fit T-shirt!
