Kinder Readiness Camp (for incoming kinder students) by Round Rock ISD Teacher
Each week your child will learn about a famous children's author. All of the activities will include language arts and math activities.Kindergarten is just around the corner. This camp will allow your child to become accustomed to a typical Kindergarten day with a variety of learning activities. We will practice basic skills such as using scissors, writing their name, and building basic fine motor skills that your child needs throughout the typical Kinder day. Your child will experience hands on learning with letters, sounds, reading, writing, and math skills. Your child will also experience how the world around us can help grow our mindset. Come join the fun and let's get ready for Kindergarten. Student must be 5 yrs old by Sept. 1, 2024

Advanced Drone Flying Camp (Gr. 2-6) by Drone Together

Drone Together is offering a faster and more advanced drone flying camp for any camper who has taken a beginner camp or after school class at RRISD. This camp offers most of the favorite flying activities from the beginner sessions, but brings in many more larger drones with more capabilities. One of the most unique drones we use are the Tello Drones, which are the best educational coding drones on the market. Our teachers use this drone with a DroneBlocks coding program to provide a very unique coding and programming experience for campers. All equipment is provided, so come ready to have fun and take on new challenges in this exciting and fast-paced STEM camp. Prerequisite: Camper must have already completed a beginner camp or after school class at RRISD Enrichment in the last 12 months. Animations and Games with Scratch is the first course in our elementary school program and is an excellent introduction to programming for younger students. Students will learn powerful programming concepts by using Scratch’s easy-to-use interface. Every lesson is spent creating a game or animation that teaches crucial programming skills, such as utilizing and creating variables, implementing loops, and using conditionals. By the end of the course, students will have the ability to code simple Scratch games and animations and will be well prepared to enter Logic with Scratch, the second course in our elementary school program.
