Bishops Chess Tournament (26/27 School Year)
This Round Rock ISD Bishops Chess Tournament is our new option for high school students. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 9-12. Students must have a current membership to the United States Chess Federation to participate.Previous tournament experience is recommended for all participants. Because we have never held a high school level tournament before we will determine sections based on the ratings of the registered players. The Bishops tournament runs from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 4:00 PM. Check in for the Bishops tournaments begins at 7:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 8:30 AM. (Late arrivals will be withdrawn from the tournament and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 40 minutes to 1 hour to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Tournament Details: Sections:These will be determined based upon the ratings of the registered players. 5 Rounds Time Control: Game in 30 delay 5 Clocks and boards provided Students who place in the top 6 of their section will receive a certificate.Prior to registering for this tournament please review the Round Rock ISD Chess Tournament Rules and Guidelines and review our Chess Tournament FAQ Web Page.Space is limited. To register for the tournament please complete the registration prior to 8:00 AM on the Monday before the tournament. Registration closes at that time or when the tournament seats fill.

Knights Chess Tournament (26/27 School Year)
This Round Rock ISD Knights Chess Tournament is our most competitive tournament. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 2-8. Students must have a current membership to the United States Chess Federation to participate.Previous tournament experience is recommended for all participants.The Knights tournament runs from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. AI Lab: Robotics & Game Design (Gr. 1-5) by Compuchild
Robotics
Students explore AI, robotics, and video game development through hands-on, project-based learning. They build and program AI-powered robots that sense and respond to their environment, creating projects such as line-following robots, obstacle-avoidance vehicles, and robot sumo challenges. In parallel, students design and play their own video games using block-based coding while learning sequencing, loops, conditionals, and game logic. Activities strengthen problem-solving, creativity, and logical thinking in an engaging STEM environment.
