TAG Festival (August 2026 Third & Fourth) - Animals Are Amazing!

Gifted and Advanced Academics -
Gifted & Advanced Academics 25-26

Animals are Amazing is designed for students interested in animals, science, and creative problem-solving. Students will explore how animals survive in diverse environments through physical and behavioral adaptations, while also examining how humans use biomimicry—borrowing ideas from nature—to engineer solutions that help us function in environments that are less ideal for humans. Throughout the week, students will design an original animal and habitat, intentionally selecting adaptations that address environmental challenges, and will also explain how humans could learn from or mimic those adaptations. The culminating project is a take-home animal-and-habitat design with written scientific justification. This camp is aligned with TAG characteristics by emphasizing critical and creative thinking, systems thinking, transfer of learning, and the application of scientific concepts to novel, real-world situations.
