Math Explorers: Shapes, Numbers, and Fun! (Gr. 2-6) by RRISD Teacher

Summer Camps / Academics / Mathematics -
2025 Summer In-Person Camps

This exciting math camp is designed to spark a love for math by tailoring activities and lessons to each developmental stage.

Goal: Introduce foundational math concepts in a playful, engaging way, creating a positive and enjoyable math experience for young learners.

Key Activities:

Math Storytime: Enjoy stories or cartoons featuring numbers, shapes, and simple math concepts (such as addition, subtraction, and patterns). These engaging narratives will help bring math to life.

Hands-on Math Games: Dive into activities like building shapes with blocks, measuring ingredients for easy recipes, or solving fun math puzzles. These games make abstract concepts more tangible.

Math Art: Explore symmetry, geometry, and patterns through creative activities like drawing, coloring, and crafting (e.g., making mandalas or geometric designs). Math and art combine to develop both creativity and critical thinking.

Interactive Technology: Experience math through interactive apps and games, designed specifically for kids, such as fun addition and subtraction challenges, or shape-sorting games.

Outdoor Math Activities: Go on a math scavenger hunt, counting and measuring objects in nature, which encourages learning through movement and exploration.

Needed Supplies: Students should bring their DIstrict Chromebooks
