Learn to play chess like a pro while designing your very own personalized chess set! In Design & Play, campers will dive into the fundamentals of chess, practicing strategies, tactics, and classic moves to strengthen their game. This camp is perfect for beginners and young chess enthusiasts ready to explore the world of strategy, problem-solving, and friendly competition. Alongside daily chess lessons and friendly matches, campers will tap into their creativity to design a custom chessboard and unique pieces, making each set as unique as its creator. With engaging challenges and mini-tournaments, students will develop focus, critical thinking, and sportsmanship. By the end of camp, each camper will have a deeper understanding of chess, improved gameplay, and a one-of-a-kind chess set to showcase their new skills.
Students who are participating in a full day camp must bring their own nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle.
