Knights Chess Tournament
This Round Rock ISD Knights Chess Tournament is our most competitive tournament. It is open to any student who is enrolled within the District in grades 2-8. Students must have a current membership to the United States Chess Federation to participate.Previous tournament experience is recommended for all participants.The Knights tournament runs from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM on a flexible schedule as rounds finish. After round 1, sections will proceed independently from other sections. We may finish before 4:00 PM. Check in for the Knights tournaments begins at 7:45 AM Round 1 matches begin at 8:30 AM. (Late arrivals will not be added to Round 1 and will be assigned a forfeit loss.) Rounds take from 40 minutes to 1 hour to run and we proceed as quickly as we can throughout the day. Tournament Details: Date: March 29, 2025 Location: Hopewell Middle School - 1535 Gulf Way, Round Rock, TX 78664 Sections: Under 800, Round Rock ISD Championship 2-8(No rating limit) Sections may be added if needed 5 Rounds Time Control: Game in 30 delay 5 Clocks and boards provided Students who place in the top 6 of their section will receive a certificate. Prior to registering for this tournament please review the Round Rock ISD Chess Tournament Rules and Guidelines and review our Chess Tournament FAQ Web Page.Space is limited. To register your student for the tournament please complete the following form before Friday, March 21st at 5:00 PM. Registration closes at that time or when the tournament seats fill. In this hands-on camp, students will explore the fascinating world of succulents, learning how to care for, propagate, and design their very own succulent gardens. By the end of the week, each student will have a unique, personalized terra cotta pot and a thriving succulent garden to take home. Through creative projects and gardening techniques, students will discover the beauty and sustainability of these easy-to-care-for plants. CAMP HIGHLIGHTS: Succulent Care 101: Learn the basics of succulent care, including watering, sunlight, and soil requirements to keep your plants healthy and thriving. Propagation Techniques: Explore different methods of propagating succulents, including leaf cuttings and stem propagation, and discover how to grow new plants from your favorites. Creative Potting: Design and paint your own terra cotta pot, using vibrant colors and artistic techniques to make it a unique home for your succulents. Building a Succulent Garden: Use mod-podge and decorative materials to create a beautiful, customized succulent garden that reflects your personal style.
