In Video Game Design Hackathon, students of all experience levels bring their creativity to life by designing and coding their own interactive video games using block-based coding platforms. Beginners start by learning game design basics—character movement, scoring systems, and storytelling—while advanced students dive deeper into multi-level design, animations, and advanced logic. Campers work individually or in small teams, moving from guided challenges to open creation as the week progresses. Along the way, they’ll explore key concepts in coding, problem-solving, and design thinking while receiving mentorship and feedback. The week culminates in a Game Showcase and Hackathon, where all students present and play their games for judges and peers. Top projects will be submitted to CompuChild’s National Game Design Competition, giving every participant a chance to shine!
