VEX Robotics Introduction (Gr. 6-8)
Students participating in this mid level introductory robotics course will be working with VEX EXP robots. Over the course of the days students will learn the basics of design and and use basic hand tools to build robots in a small group. By the end of the week they will be able to code their robots to participate in challenges or games. Princeton Review SAT® Prep Class - ONLINE CLASS
Students who actively participate in the Princeton Review course significantly increase their performance on their SAT, thus increasing their opportunities to gain admission to college and universities, and earn scholarships and entry into select programs. This virtual course focuses exclusively on the math and verbal skills specific to the SAT.Before you register, please be aware of the following expectations: Student should only register to attend one session. Student must attend all days of the course. Student will receive log on instructions from their instructor, and must log on daily by the designated start time for their course and stay every day for the duration of their designated course time. A firm commitment from both the student and their family is required in order to maximize the impact of the course. The fee for this course is $125.00 (reduced from $700.00!) and includes all materials and instruction. Every student is welcome. If financial aid is required to offset the cost, please complete the Scholarship Request Form. Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We have limited seats available. Based on the success of previous courses, we anticipate that the available seats will fill quickly. No refunds will be issued for Cancellation Request Forms submitted after the 2nd class date. Calling all Minecrafters! Building Minecraft mods is a great way to learn programming, harness creativity, and enhance problem-solving skills while making your favorite game even better. Each student will have their own Minecraft server where they can customize the game with their own world maps and features. Students will be coding mods to create new items, environments, non-playable characters, game modes, and more! Using a simple drag-and-drop coding environment, campers will accomplish exciting results with their one-of-a-kind Minecraft features! Students should plan on using their RRISD Minecraft Education Edition account credentials for this course, so they can code after camp with their new modding skills! Little Coders: Intro to Coding (Gr. K-2) by Coding with Kids

Get them started early! Our Little Coders class offers young children the perfect opportunity to develop their computational thinking skills, create their first programs, and have a blast with their friends! Our curriculum is tailored specifically for early readers and takes into consideration their cognitive abilities and attention span, typically found in children aged 5-7. We utilize age-appropriate online tools, including Lightbot, Kodable, and Scratch, to introduce fundamental coding skills. Beginner students learn essential coding concepts such as Loops and Conditions. Through practice, they apply these concepts to build simple projects, including games, stories, and even animated characters. Returning and experienced students encounter new challenges that will allow them to push their coding knowledge to the next level. If you're just starting out, we'll begin by learning the basics of coding games. We'll teach you how to make things happen in your games using loops, conditions, and variables.
