Get ready for a hands-on, creative summer camp where you’ll explore the world of hand sewing! This camp is perfect for beginners and anyone interested in learning practical skills while creating beautiful, handmade items.
What you’ll learn:
Basic Stitches: Master essential stitches like running stitch, back stitch, and whip stitch
Threading a Needle: Learn how to thread a needle and use basic sewing tools with confidence Sewing on Buttons: Practice sewing buttons onto fabric for practical use Mending and Altering Clothes: Repair small tears or rips and make simple alterations to your garments Creating Handmade Items: Make unique, handcrafted gifts for friends and family
While we won’t be using machines in this camp, you can bring yours to learn how to set it up, understand its functions, and use it for future projects.
Hand sewing is a great introduction to the fiber arts, and this camp will inspire you to be both practical and creative. Whether you’re fixing old clothes or making something new, you’ll leave with valuable skills you can use for years to come!
