The College Application Workshop will prepare students to submit a comprehensive package to universities which highlights their strengths and demonstrates interest in their preferred major. Students will complete their Personal Essay and Supplemental essays (as available), develop a resume, create a "Brag Sheet" to provide to adults who will write recommendation letters, produce detailed lists of clubs, organizations, activities, awards and work experience and review SAT/ ACT scores in the context of their preferred university and major. Recommendations will be offered to strengthen the application. Students will learn about the different types of admission offered, when and where to complete the FAFSA, Cost of Attendance and scholarship resources. Additionally, students will contact admissions representatives for their chosen school/major and have the opportunity to register for university admissions programs. *Guardian permission and presence is required for many on-campus presentations. On-line programs are widely available. Workshop is taught by a Texas certified English teacher with experience as a College Coach and as an Application Reviewer for a Texas Tier 1 University. Needed Supplies: Students MUST have RRISD provided laptop daily. Student must bring on the first day: *GPA/ Class Rank and unofficial transcript *AP Courses, Scores and access to College Board *Interest list of colleges & majors *List of extracurricular activities, clubs and organizations, awards, volunteer hours, work experience, job shadowing, etc.

This camp is designed specifically for incoming kindergarteners, helping them develop the essential skills they'll need for a successful first year of school. Through fun, hands-on learning, each week students explore the works of a different beloved children's author, with activities that build key developmental skills. In this summer camp you will design and create your own rubber carving block. Artists will learn about printmaking and how to safely use the gouge to carve into the rubber block. Artists will carve designs into the block, leaving raised areas to ink. The inked block is then pressed onto paper to create a relief print. This soft-cut linocut is a relief printing technique similar to using traditional linoleum.

Math Maniacs will provide highly engaging math activitiesto help your child battle the "summerslide"! We will work on problem solving skills, boost numerical fluency and deepen conceptual knowledge. Hands-on activities, games and collaborative working will ensure your learner has a fun time while expanding their understanding of math. This in-person digital design camp introduces students to industry-standard tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Campers will learn graphic design fundamentals, and digital illustration. The camp is led by Mrs. Carroll, who has a professional background in graphic design and the only middle school–level teacher in the district with real-world industry experience as a working designer, giving students an authentic, career-connected learning experience. Writing with Power is designed to help middle grade students strengthen their writing voice and confidence. Through guided drafting and intentional revision,students learn how strong writing is built and refined over time. The course explores multiple genres, including informational, persuasive, and creative writing, and hones critical thinking skills. By reading effective mentor texts,students identify powerful writing strategies such as clear organization,strong word choice, and engaging openings. They practice applying these strategies in their own work. Writing with Power encourages thoughtful risk-taking, clear expression, and pride in the writing process.

Students participating in this mid level introductory robotics course will be working with VEX EXP robots. Over the course of the days students will learn the basics of design and and use basic hand tools to build robots in a small group. By the end of the week they will be able to code their robots to participate in challenges or games. This dynamic camp is high-energy and blends fun games with strength & conditioning activities to boost fitness, health, and athleticism. Designed for 4th-8th graders of all skill levels. Led by an experienced Round Rock ISD teacher and physical educator with expertise in coaching sports,strength and conditioning, fitness instruction, and nutritional coaching. Campers will create, design, and build using a variety of materials inspired by engaging read-alouds. Board Game Designers Camp is a hands-on, creative 4-day enrichment experience for students entering grades 3-6 where kids become real game designers! Students explore what makes games fun and fair, then imagine a theme, design a game board, create pieces and cards, and write clear rules. Through collaboration, playtesting, and iteration, campers learn strategy, problem-solving, and creativity. The week ends with a Board Game Expo where students are invited to play their original games designed from scratch. Every child goes home with a fully finished, one-of-a-kind board game they’re proud of!

Love brain teasers and challenges? In Puzzle Masters Lab,studentstackle daily logic games, pattern puzzles, riddles, and hands-on building challenges. Campers strengthen critical thinking,spatial reasoning, and perseverance while solving and creating their own puzzles. From logic grids and tiling designs to lateral thinking mysteries, every day brings a new challenge. The week ends with a Puzzle Showcase where students share the original puzzles they designed for others to solve!

Get ready to jump, cheer, and shine! The Cheer Enrichment Camp is an energetic, confidence-boosting week for 5th–7th graders who want to explore cheerleading or sharpen their skills. Campers will learn cheer fundamentals including motions, jumps, introductory stunting, and performance skills in a safe,supportive environment. No experience is needed. Throughout the week,skills will build toward a short cheer routine that campers will proudly perform for families. This camp is the perfect way to boost confidence, build teamwork, and prepare students for future school cheer opportunities.

For our young interested cheerleaders, come join our middle school coaches to learn the fundamentals of cheer, learn a routine, and have a parent show-off at the end.

I will create pass ports for the students and we will dive deep into different cultures daily. We’ll do cultures like Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and others. Each day we’ll start by reading and researching the country and looking at cultural norms and traditions. Then we’ll look at a dish we can make that will be a no make food. For example, for Mexico we can do a salsa recipe. Everything would be prepared safe and no make. Allergies will be taken into consideration as well. Tuesday: Pollinator Pals(Cardboard Rolls) After reading The Honeybee, we’ll look at the tiny heroes of our gardens. Using toilet paper and paper towel rolls,students will construct Eco-Binoculars for birdwatching and Biodegradable Seed Starters. Your child will come home with a native wildflower ready to be planted—roll and all—directly into your garden! Wednesday: Garden Guardians(Aluminum Cans) Metal is"infinitely recyclable," and today we prove it. Using the beautifully illustrated The Tin Forest as our guide,students will turn cold aluminum cans into musical Wind Chimes and "Can-imals." It’s a day of texture,sound, and learning how humans can transform industrial materials back into natural beauty. Thursday: The Great Rainforest (Egg Cartons) We wrap up the week exploring biodiversity with The Tree Lady. The humble egg carton becomes a vibrant 3D Coral Reef or a Monarch Caterpillar. We’ll discuss how every "compartment" of an ecosystem—like the cups of a carton—is essential for the planet to thrive. The "Eco-Hero" Experience This isn't just a "sit and glue" camp. Each session includes: Literacy Connections: Daily storytime to build empathy for animals and the planet. Nature Walks: Short excursions to test out our handmade binoculars and observe local wildlife. STEM Integration: Learning why certain materials decompose and why others (like plastic) need our help to be reused. Spike Essentials Introduction: Amusement Park Fun Each day, students will participate in team building activities and receive a team briefing for challenges.
