TAG Festival (August 2025 Fifth & Sixth Grade) - Playing with Probability and Percentages GAME TIME!
Are you ready to make learning an adventure? This week, campers will dive into an exciting world of mathematical concepts through engaging games that make the learning process enjoyable and effective.Throughout the week, participants will explore a variety of important mathematical ideas, including probability, percentages, logic, and much more. Each day will be filled with hands-on activities that not only teach these concepts but also encourage teamwork and critical thinking among campers.In addition to playing a selection of games designed to deepen their understanding, students will have the unique opportunity to create their own mathematical games! This creative process will allow them to apply what they learn in a fun and interactive way, ensuring that they grasp the concepts while fostering their imagination.As a bonus, campers will be able to bring home some of the games they play, allowing them to share their newfound knowledge with family and friends. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to enhance their math skills while having a blast with their peers.Note: Students will need their Round Rock ISD student issued Chromebooks and chargers for this session.

Little Coders (Gr. K-2) by Coding with Kids

Our Little Coders camp is an opportunity for young children to develop their computational thinking skills, build their first programs, and have fun with new friends! The curriculum is designed specifically for early readers and takes into account cognitive abilities as well as the attention span typical for ages 5-7. We use age-appropriate online tools, including Lightbot, Kodable, and Scratch to introduce basic coding skills. After the camp, students will be able to share their projects with family and friends and continue programming at home with their Coding with Kids Scratch account. Prerequisites: Basic reading helpful but not required. Can handle mouse and keyboard comfortably. Python is a very versatile and easy-to-learn starter language that is widely used by software developers, scientists and data analysts, from medical research to applications at NASA. Through the games they create, campers will learn and practice core coding concepts and learn Python-specific concepts and syntax. Projects range from trivia quizzes to competitive two-player games and everything in between. Students will gain valuable experience with key concepts such as data structures and algorithms. This STEM Robotics beginner camp has it all: building, creating, designing, engineering, coding concepts, and basic robotics and drones. We aim to make a child's first experience with STEM both fun and engaging, so we create a space for the kids to work collaboratively to bring their ideas to life. This is a very hands-on camp. Our belief is, the more fun they have in this learning environment, the more likely they are to continue pursuing STEM opportunities in the future.
