Join us for an exhilarating adventure at our summer camp where technology meets creativity! Dive into the exciting world of coding with robots, a unique experience designed for both beginners and seasoned programmers. Here, you will engage in hands-on learning that not only teaches coding skills but also ignites your imagination.Using a block-based programming language, you will bring robots to life, giving them commands to move, make sounds, recognize objects, and even avoid obstacles! With each project, you'll create interactive and dynamic experiences that will captivate both your mind and senses. As you navigate challenges and troubleshoot unexpected results, you will cultivate resilience and problem-solving skills, learning to analyze, debug, and enhance your code.This journey fosters a growth mindset, strengthening not only your programming abilities but also your perseverance and adaptability. Join our recreational basketball classes. New teams are chosen each week "pick-up" style. We offer a fast fun pickup style game that gives everyone equal playing time. Class size is limited so please sign up early. Only those who pre-register may play. Tuesday night at Canyon Vista Middle School gym 8-9:30pm.

Video Game Design Hackathon (Gr. 2-8) by Compuchild
Coding/Programming
Design. Code. Compete! In Video Game Design Hackathon, students of all experience levels bring their creativity to life by designing and coding their own interactive video games using block-based coding platforms. Beginners start by learning game design basics—character movement, scoring systems, and storytelling—while advanced students dive deeper into multi-level design, animations, and advanced logic. Campers work individually or in small teams, moving from guided challenges to open creation as the week progresses. Along the way, they’ll explore key concepts in coding, problem-solving, and design thinking while receiving mentorship and feedback. The week culminates in a Game Showcase and Hackathon, where all students present and play their games for judges and peers. Top projects will be submitted to CompuChild’s National Game Design Competition, giving every participant a chance to shine! Young campers (Grades 2–4) and Older students (Grades 5–8) Supplies: Bring your Round Rock ISD issued Chromebook fully charged to camp each day for better connection. Students bring their imagination to life as they design colorful characters, build exciting levels, and code their own interactive games—no prior experience needed! Each day combines guided lessons and creative play, helping campers learn logic, sequencing, and problem-solving while expressing their ideas through digital storytelling. By the end of the week, every student will have their own fully playable game to share with family and friends. The week wraps up with a Game Showcase Celebration, where campers present their creations, play each other’s games, and celebrate their accomplishments as young game designers. They’ll also craft and deliver their own TED-style talks on topics they care about.
