Campers will embark on a delicious journey across the globe through hands-on cooking and food exploration. Each day highlights a different country or region, introducing kids to international flavors, cultural traditions, and basic culinary techniques. Campers will prepare simple, age-appropriate recipes, learn kitchen safety, and discover how food connects people around the world. This camp encourages creativity, teamwork, and curiosity while building confidence in the kitchen - one country at a time. Students who are participating in a full day camp must bring their own nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle.

FULL DAY Beginners Dance Camp (Gr. 1-2) by RRISD Teacher

A fun and engaging dance camp for students entering kindergarten through second grade! Dancers will learn the fundamentals of dance through age-appropriate activities, dance games, and choreography, and will showcase what they’ve learned in a special performance at the end of camp. FULL DAY Introduction to Flight: Exploring the World of Aviation (Gr. 8-12) by RRISD Teacher

Discover the exciting world of aviation in this engaging, hands-on class for students in grades 8–12. Taught by a private pilot and teacher, this course explores how airplanes fly through easy-to-understand lessons on aerodynamics and real-world examples. Students will design, build, and fly balsa wood model airplanes, learning through testing and friendly challenges. We’ll talk about what it takest o become a pilot, explore aviation careers, and see how pilots use weather, instruments, and technology to make decisions. Videos,simulations, and interactive activities bring aviation to life and connect science and problem-solving to real flight experiences. Students who are participating in a full day camp must bring their own nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle.

FULL DAY Math in Motion (Gr. 3-6) by RRISD Teacher

Students will strengthen foundational math skills in the four basic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—through engaging, hands-on activities. Learning will include kinesthetic movement, fake-money exercises, and physical games such as basketball to reinforce concepts. Students will also create a blanket using recycled fabric to explore geometric concepts including area, perimeter of polygons, combined area, and the circumference of circles. Students who are participating in a full day camp must bring their own nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle.

FULL DAY STEM Challenge Camp (Gr. 4-6) by RRISD Teacher

Students will follow the STEM process, using skills and allowing students to ASK, IMAGINE, PLAN & CREATE, IMPROVE, COMMUNICATE, and REFLECT. Students will design and create the following projects: a shelter 12" high for an animal, a device that launches pom poms in the air, and a maze for a ball to roll through. If time permits,students will be introduced to more STEM challenges. Students who are participating in a full day camp must bring their own nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle.

Student Leadership helps students build confidence and prepare to lead on campus. Campers explore different leadership styles through hands-on activities, team challenges, and games that keep learning engaging and fun. They practice communication, problem solving, and collaboration while working with peers n real world situations. This is excellent preparation for Student Council, clubs, and team sports. These skills support success in school and continue to benefit students in college and career readiness. Board Game Designers (Gr. 3-6) by RRISD Teacher

Board Game Designers Camp is a hands-on, creative 4-day enrichment experience for students entering grades 3-6 where kids become real game designers! Students explore what makes games fun and fair, then imagine a theme, design a game board, create pieces and cards, and write clear rules. Through collaboration, playtesting, and iteration, campers learn strategy, problem-solving, and creativity. The week ends with a Board Game Expo where students are invited to play their original games designed from scratch. Every child goes home with a fully finished, one-of-a-kind board game they’re proud of!

Camp Violin: Suzuki Book 1 (Gr. 1-5) by RRISD Teacher

Calling all violin students of Suzuki Book 1! Whether you just finished Twinkle or have started Gavotte, this camp will allow you to improve your music making in a group class setting and engage with other students playing the same repertoire! Students must have completed Twinkle Theme to join this camp. Needed Supplies: Students will need to bring their own instrument, bow, rosin, case, rag. Sheet music will be provided.

College Application Workshop (Gr. 11-12) by RRISD Teacher

The College Application Workshop will prepare students to submit a comprehensive package to universities which highlights their strengths and demonstrates interest in their preferred major. Students will complete their Personal Essay and Supplemental essays (as available), develop a resume, create a "Brag Sheet" to provide to adults who will write recommendation letters, produce detailed lists of clubs, organizations, activities, awards and work experience and review SAT/ ACT scores in the context of their preferred university and major. Recommendations will be offered to strengthen the application. Students will learn about the different types of admission offered, when and where to complete the FAFSA, Cost of Attendance and scholarship resources. Additionally, students will contact admissions representatives for their chosen school/major and have the opportunity to register for university admissions programs. *Guardian permission and presence is required for many on-campus presentations. On-line programs are widely available. Workshop is taught by a Texas certified English teacher with experience as a College Coach and as an Application Reviewer for a Texas Tier 1 University. Needed Supplies: Students MUST have RRISD provided laptop daily. Student must bring on the first day: *GPA/ Class Rank and unofficial transcript *AP Courses, Scores and access to College Board *Interest list of colleges & majors *List of extracurricular activities, clubs and organizations, awards, volunteer hours, work experience, job shadowing, etc.

Kinder Readiness Camp (for incoming kinder students) by RRISD Teacher

Learn to Crochet (Gr. 5-11) by RRISD Teacher

Students of all ages will learn how to crochet! Students will learn the basics and then pick a project to make and keep at the end of camp! Students who are participating in a half day morning camp also must bring their own nut-free sack lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle.

Printmaking (Gr. 5-7) by RRISD Teacher

In this summer camp you will design and create your own rubber carving block. Artists will learn about printmaking and how to safely use the gouge to carve into the rubber block. Artists will carve designs into the block, leaving raised areas to ink. The inked block is then pressed onto paper to create a relief print. This soft-cut linocut is a relief printing technique similar to using traditional linoleum.

Writing with Power (Gr. 5-8) by RRISD Teacher

Writing with Power is designed to help middle grade students strengthen their writing voice and confidence. Through guided drafting and intentional revision,students learn how strong writing is built and refined over time. The course explores multiple genres, including informational, persuasive, and creative writing, and hones critical thinking skills. By reading effective mentor texts,students identify powerful writing strategies such as clear organization,strong word choice, and engaging openings. They practice applying these strategies in their own work. Writing with Power encourages thoughtful risk-taking, clear expression, and pride in the writing process.
