Calling all Minecrafters! Building Minecraft mods is a great way to learn programming, harness creativity, and enhance problem-solving skills while making your favorite game even better. Each camper will have their own Minecraft server where they can customize the game with their own world maps and features. Students will be coding mods to create new items, environments, non-playable characters, game modes, and more! Using a simple drag-and-drop coding environment, students will accomplish exciting results with their one-of-a-kind Minecraft features! This camp will teach you how to mod mobs to make them more powerful or simply add a fun element. Python is a very versatile and easy-to-learn starter language that is widely used by software developers, scientists and data analysts, from medical research to applications at NASA. Through the games they create, students will learn and practice core coding concepts and learn Python-specific concepts and syntax. Projects range from trivia quizzes to competitive two-player games and everything in between. Students will gain valuable experience with key concepts such as data structures and algorithms. Do you love playing video games with your friends? Have you ever wanted to create your own Player vs. Player (PvP) game? In this class, students will learn how to create their own PvP games using Python. Students will use basic Python programming to code their own two-player games, including an air hockey game and a space battler! Creating Roblox games is a fun way for campers to learn and practice programming! Each camper will be able to create different custom games with Lua code, a language very similar to JavaScript and Python. With the largest user-generated online gaming platform, Roblox is the #1 gaming site for kids and teens (via comScore). Our Roblox class is a great way to build on this interest and have kids learn to code. They can then publish their game and share it with friends on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Amazon Devices, and Xbox One. Spanish For Beginners is an introduction to Spanish and focuses on the four key areas of foreign language study: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Short Form Content Creation is where it is at!! Students will go through a series of video lessons that will take students from start to finish creating their own U-tube channel and content. Students will work on short-form content; gameplay commentary, lifestyle shows, product reviews, current events, etc…. Once the footage has been captured, students will work to edit and deliver the footage in an exciting show format that excites and captivates their audience. Students will go through a series of video lessons that will take students AROUND THE WORLD as students visit each continent exploring maps, food, culture, music, animal, and so much more Additional opportunities to work on crafts, coloring pages and recopies are available offline/anytime.
