TAG Festival (Second & Third Grade) - LEGO® Robotics
This camp is an introduction to Lego Robotics. In this session, students will be exposed to basic coding strategies. Each day they will create at least one project independently after learning the necessary skills. On Thursday, we will host a showcase for students to demonstrate their final project to their families. Note: Students will need their Round Rock ISD student issued Chromebooks and chargers for this session.

LEGO® Spike Prime Advanced: Let's Compete (Gr. 4-6)
Spike Prime Advanced: Let's CompeteEach day, students will participate in team building activities and receive a team briefing for they day's challenges. Daily challenges will help students develop skills and knowledge to complete the culminating project of designing and navigating an obstacle course.To be most successful, in this advanced level course students should have experience with the Scratch coding platform and experience with reading instructions to build complex LEGO models. The camp allows for a much more extensive look at each subject that is offered, and students learn tips and strategies to help them throughout the test. In addition, the instructor will sit down one-on- one and review the final diagnostic test with students in order to develop a personalized study plan. In this camp, we will construct an art journal using mixed media techniques. We will explore painting, stenciling, stamping, collaging, and generating fodder. We will be using a variety of mediums including gesso, acrylic paint and, ink. At the end of the camp, each participant will have constructed their own art journal. Dungeons and Dragons (Gr. 8-12) by Round Rock ISD Teacher

Whether you have never heard of Dungeons and Dragons before, or you play every week, this camp is for you. Join us as we use imagination and problem-solving to explore worlds, vanquish monsters, and save the day! This camp will be offered as both half-day and full-day, depending on the week during the summer. The half-day camps will include a pre-made character for each player and a full adventure for the players to journey through. The full-day camps will include the instruction for players to design their own characters, a full adventure for the players to journey through, and the optional opportunity for campers to lead their peers in a short adventure of their own. Start your summer with a deep dive into Improv Comedy and share what you've learned on your car trips, airplane rides and hours lounging beside the pool! Improv games are for everyone and create a structured way to collaboratively imagine and connect. Low pressure and fun, this camp focuses on Improv essentials and uses short form games to explore character creation, storybuilding and performance basics. Our goal this week is to send kids home with games that are easy to share with friends and family beyond the context of camp. An optional informal performance takes place at the end of the final day. In Intro to Python, the first course in Wizard Level 1 of our high school program, students are introduced to foundational programming concepts such as functions, conditional statements, variables, data types, looping, and data structures. These are the basics that any programmer must internalize before moving on to more advanced topics. They’ll learn and practice these concepts by building practical apps and games using the core Python language in our custom online programming editor. After completing Intro to Python, students are ready to move on to the next course in our structured curriculum: Fundamentals of Web Development. This course is intended for high-school students with no or minimal structured experience in learning a real-world, text-based programming language. Speak Beat (Gr. 6-12) by Round Rock ISD Teacher

Speak Beat is an innovative literacy workshop that combines communications with music, audio engineering, language arts, public speaking and performance arts. Speak Beat is for the creative student who is interested in live performance, slam poetry/spoken word, public speaking, oral reading, acting, theater, and giving live presentations. Students will workshop their material to be performed or shared before a live audience. Speak Beat develops confidence, leadership skills, literacy, goal setting, collaboration, positive self-esteem, and empowerment. Speak Beat gives participants a voice to express themselves while reinforcing areas of English and Language Arts, digital literacy, audio & video technology, and multimedia applications used in 21st century communication trends. Whether you are a novice public speaker or a professional expert, Speak Beat is an educational platform that encourages public speaking in a creative and supportive environment. Each participant or team will have up to 5 minutes to present prepared material, which can be spoken, acted out, or performed live.
